Banca dell'Umbria 1462 SpA or previously known as Cassa di Risparmio di Perugia was an Italian bank. The bank became a subsidiary of UniCredit in 1999 and ceased to exist in 2005. However its former owner Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Perugia, still operated as a charity organization. ==History== The history of the bank could traced back to 1462, which Monte di Perugia was found. In 1972 the Monte was merged with Cassa di Risparmio di Perugia. (The saving bank of Perugia)〔Benedetta economia by Luigino Bruni, Alessandra Smerilli 2008 (Google Book preview)〕 In 1992, due to Legge Amato, the bank non-profit making ownership as well as charity work were separated from daily banking operation, thus the formation of Cassa di Risparmio di Perugia SpA.〔 The bank was renamed to Banca dell'Umbria 1462 SpA In 1997.〔 In 1999 the owner of the bank, the foundation sold majority interests to Rolo Banca 1473 SpA〔 (at that time merging with other banks to form UniCredit) for the shares of Rolo Banca.
